In Animal Farm By George Orwell a memorable idea in this novel was the idea of Loyalty because of all the characters are either against each other working on evil schemes or just with those who work alongside each other to get through the fight ahead of them. There are three characters in this novel that stand out to me that display these moments and they will be listed now.
The first character that displays loyalty in my point of view is Boxer for there are many reasons why he displays this. The first reason is that he is loyal is that he always goes along with anything the farm is wanting him to do. For that was also the downfall of him to but that will be explained later but Boxer is always willing to do things around him to get anything done on the farm making him stronger and faster than the other animals making them admire him for his strength and hard working conditions but as he overworked himself he sent himself to his grave for working to hard for he was loyal and he sacrificed himself for the farm
Leaving the animals to work away without the help of their most trusted worker and friend.
The next character who displays this era of loyalty is Snowball. Snowball had lead the revolution allowing the other animals to take it over and live in piece the reason why i chose Snowball is because he shows loyalty towards Old Major’s death so he continued what Old Major wanted the other animals to continue. In the battle of the cowshed Snowball lead the animals to victory having him injured but for the other animals he found a way to keep Mr Jones and the other humans out of the farm and gave two medal of honor to those who had died in the battle.
The third and last character that displays loyalty is none other than Napoleon himself when he was under Snowballs league and was loyal to him and tried to make things better for the farm. For Napoleon tried to help Snowball make the farm better but he turned away from the farm and Snowball and took the farm for himself attempting to make it better as his ‘empire’ but Napoleon needed more than just the farm, he needed guards in case the other animals decided to rebel against him. He chose dogs as his obvious choice because Napoleon knew that the dogs obey him and him only for as long as he lived.
To close this page of writing i decided to use this topic because it was highlighted to me and it meant alot than just another
Hi Nico,
Nice idea to focus on.
Remember to follow the SEXY structure. Statement at the beginning saying what the paragraph is about. Explain what your statement means. Provide an eXample that relates to your explanation. Discuss Your opinion talking about the author’s purpose, connections to outside the novel and link back to your statement.
Focus on answering the second part of the question now. You have done a good job at describing the idea of loyalty and how it is shown in the novel. Now start to say WHY and HOW it is memorable. Think about the writing techniques. Things like personifications, metaphors and hyperboles will help make a piece memorable.
Avoid using personal pronouns like ‘Me” or “I” as this is informal language. When writing an essay you need to be using formal language.
Good work so far!
